The Local Church Ministries Team met in early June and spent some time discussing the blessing and challenge of being part of the UCC which expresses itself in local autonomy and in covenant with other local churches and with the regional and national settings of the United Church of Christ. What a blessing and opportunity we have to be able to reach out to our National Staff of the UCC, and not have to go through too many layers of bureaucracy. What a challenge we have to be able to share the gifts of our National Staff with as many local churches as possible.
The Local Church Ministry Team encourages good stewardship of the time and talents of our National Staff coming to visit the Central Pacific Conference for the benefit of our local churches. Please let us know if you have someone from the national setting coming to your local church. We would love to work with you to create additional opportunities to our guests to contribute in a larger covenantal context within the conference.
