CPC Women’s Retreat

Camp Adams, Molalla, OR  *  October 12th-14th

Central Pacific women , mark you calendars for October 12-14 and plan to come to Camp Adams for that week-end.  “Listen!  God is Speaking” will be the theme with Rev. Lea Mathieu as the resource leader.  Flyers have been mailed to all the conference churches.  Total cost for the gathering is $105 with $65 required with your registration.  Financial aid is available from the Rev. Anne Smith Educational Loan/Grant Fund.  Church offices and Deanna Mason have the application forms for that as well as the CPC office.  Additional information is available from Nancy Klingeman at (541) 753-3350.

Resource Leader Bio:  Rev. Lea Mathieu

Lea was ordained at Plymouth Congregational UCC in Seattle in 1991.  She was born in Japan and as an “army brat” has lived in many countries as well as all over the United States.  Lea graduated from the University of Texas with a degree in English.  As a Peace Corps volunteer teaching in Cameroon, she felt God’s call and entered seminary after completing her overseas term.  United Theological Seminary in New York City was her next destination.  Her first pastorate was in Ione, Oregon, where she met her husband, Joel.  They settled down on his farm and now have three children.  Later, she earned a Master’s in education and taught in area schools.  She has published two books: The Literate Spirit and Called to Teach.  Currently, Lea is serving part-time as the interim pastor at Condon UCC.
