Local Church Ministry

The Local Church Ministry Team (LCM) encourages and supports local churches to be vital, inclusive congregations of mission, unity, nurture, faith development, and justice. LCM is a faithful, creative group that gathers several times each year to plan programs that will encourage and support the lives and work of our local churches. If you are interested in serving on the Local Church Ministry Team, please email the Chair at the address below.

LCM plans clergy retreats, sponsors educational forums and all-Conference book reads, provides children’s ministry resources, and offers a list of vetted children and youth ministry programs. This team also hosts “Swap Meets” to encourage connection and share ideas and wisdom among local churches. Swap meets are loosely facilitated exchanges among clergy and members of our CPC churches on topics as diverse as contemplative prayer practices, hybrid worship, fundraising, grief circles, and more.

LCM has compiled a document resource list, with examples of documents like building contracts, safety policies, pastoral evaluation, and more. We also put together a list of COVID pandemic resources.

LCM has organized a playlist of Contemplative Spiritual Practice videos for Lent 2022 created by contributors from across the CPC.

The Justice & Local Church Ministries of the United Church of Christ supports congregations and other settings of the church in doing justice, seeking peace, and building vibrant faith communities that are welcoming to all.

If you have additional resources that you would like to add, please contact LCM Chair Jennifer Seaich (revjennifers@gmail.com).
